Dr. John A. Cuthbert is Head of Special Collections and Curator of the West Virginia and Regional History Collection and Director of the West Virginia University Art Collection.  He is author Early Art and Artists in West Virginia and curator of David Hunter Strother “One of the Best Draughtsmen the Country Possesses.”

Dr. Cuthbert has collaborated with Patchwork Films as historian on Out of the Storm  and The Cal Price Pocahontas Times Project and is a recent recipient of the Charles H. Daugherty Award in the Humanities.
