Dr. Roland P. Sharp
First President
WV School of Osteopathic Medicine
Roland P.
Sharp was born at Frost in Pocahontas County,
West
Virginia. The grandson of a country
doctor, his early years were spent in the one-room schools, where he later taught
to earn the money to go to medical school.
Dr. Sharp practiced medicine in Mullens, WV, before returning to his
homeplace and opening his practice in Green Bank. As a founding member of the
West
Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg,
he served
as the school’s first President.
He is now
retired and lives on the family farm in Frost.
