“Our Place in Time,” relies heavily
upon volunteer support.
The most important way to give your
time is by volunteering to collect material to be used in the production of
documentaries for the exhibit. You can help
by: finding a person with a story to tell; conducting an interview (be the
interviewer or run the camera); locate photographs or take pictures.
Other ways you can help
Assisting with fundraising
campaigns.
Promoting the project at civic,
church and school gatherings.
Locating items for display in the
exhibit.
Invite friends and family to
volunteer.
Partner with a student to do an
interview.
GIVING
to the Living
History Project is crucial to its ongoing success.
Even though we will apply for many
grants, private and business contributions are absolutely crucial. A substantial donor base is necessary to
show potential funders that we have community support and the ability to raise
matching dollars. Contact the Project
Director, B.J Gudmundsson, at 304-645-4998 to discuss a way that meets your
special way of giving.
In some cases donors wish to make a
gift earmarked to a special project, such as a film about their family or
business, or support for a student program, such as the Film Competition. Others wish to earmark to their donation
for a piece of equipment or exhibit item.
Many folks donate a gift in recognition of a special friend or family
member, or a gift in memorial to a loved one who has passed away. The Living History Project can alsoaccept in-kind gifts such as equipment or necessary services.
Contributions are tax-deductible to
the extent of the law. Our financial
summaries are available for public review upon request
